Every time a huge TV show sputters to the finish line the contributors to The Irrelevant will share the one thing we've been into this week. It can be a movie, a book, a song, an album, some youtube video, a random meme, or twitter user, anything that's been taking up more space in our mind than it should. We want to share this with you because we like sharing things we're into.

Joseph:

Bodega Boys

It took me a while but I finally fixed a major flaw and got into the Bodega Boys, Desus Nice and The Kid Mero. I wasn’t not into them before but had only seen a few clips and gifs and at some point I looked up SMDFTB but I just never sought out their stuff. Desus was retweeted into my feed enough that it felt kind like a I knew what was going on but I didn’t know what I was missing.

The Bodega Boys have worked their way up to being the biggest show in late night televison(on Tuesdays and Thursdays on Showtime) in addition to doing a weekly podcast. These have been the funniest two hours of my week since I started regularly listening to them. I constantly find myself having to pause or rewind because I missed something from laughing too hard. I fear my co-workers may think I'm going crazy soon. The duo tackle everything pop culture and they are the funniest voicest doing it right now. Don’t be a fool like I was follow them and watch everything they put out.

Barry

I think Bill Hader is one of the funniest people on the planet. He’s the best impressionist/voice guy in my eyes and he’s amazing on talk shows and podcasts. I just really like the guy’s work. Naturally I’d heard of his HBO show Barry but I hadn’t seen any of it because I’m not a millionaire so I don’t have HBO normally. I scrounged all my pennies and bought a subscription to HBO to catch the last season of Game Of Thrones live but have also taken advantage to see every show I’ve missed out on. So let me just say it, Barry is fantastic.

If you have never heard anything about Barry, it’s a show about a hitman who is unhappy with his life and starts taking an acting class wherein he learns more about himself. It’s weird, but the acting class is one of the funniest things in the show and it’s essential for Barry to interact with “normal” vulnerable people and find his community. The tone of the show is serious though and incredibly dark at times. This is where Bill Hader really knocks it out of the park, he’s a good actor. He portrays all the rage and anger and confusion and anguish of a man who is a monster but doesn’t want to be in one moment, then he’ll say something or deliver a line in an effortlessly hilarious way. He’s so good.

It’s beyond Hader though, I like everything about the show. Every actor nails it but especially Henry Winkler who plays acting teacher Gene Cousineau and Anthony Carrigan who plays Chechen crime lord NoHo Hank. The action scenes are legitimate action scenes with real visceral fights, and the jokes are so well placed. The cinematography is exceptional. The only thing I don’t like about it is that each episode is only about 30 minutes long. Season 2 is still ongoing and will end soon but you should really check it out.

Also it's the only show HBO has left....so that's something.
