Every week (just about) the contributors to The Irrelevant will share the one thing we've been into this week. It can be a movie, a book, a song, an album, some youtube video, a random meme, or twitter user, anything that's been taking up more space in our mind than it should. We want to share this with you because we like sharing things we're into.

Flip or Flop

Flip or Flop is on Hulu now and I couldn’t be happier considering we don’t pay for that tier of cable that has HGTV. I don’t like just any home and garden program and I can not get on board with those cheese-balls Chip and Joana. Tarek and Christina El Moussa are money and even though they’re divorced they are the ‘couple’ who are still filming new seasons...surprisingly. The format is predictable; they always go over budget in renovations and there’s always some unexpected obstacle regarding permits, but they sell their houses to make a profit in the end! The real surprise though are when they don’t sell a property right off the bat and have to lower their selling price. I think that lends a realistic aspect thus giving us the “flop” part of the show. There's also recurring characters and because it is filmed in Southern California there's a good amount of diversity on it. Yeah ok, it only furthers the stereotype that Mexicans are excellent landscapers and contractors, but Izzy and Jesse are the heart of the episodes they appear in and the real reasons those homes sell.

Just because we are getting an insight into real estate investing doesn't mean we don't also get some reality show drama! Well I guess off camera drama. The couple said they separated after they had their son and the show documented Christina's pregnancy and son's arrival, so a fun game I like to play while watching season 6 is ‘spot where it all starts to take a turn’. Another thing my husband and I like to do is narrate for their daughter who obviously can't stand her absent father, Tarek (well in our heads anyway he's negligent). Come on, I already said it has a pattern to it's format, this is just for fun and I wouldn't make fun If I didn't absolutely love this show and it's hosts.

Star Wars Galaxy of Heroes

On this May the Fourth I bring you the gift of Star Wars. By which I mean EA games brings you Star Wars Galaxy of Heroes. It is available on the two important mobile platforms, Android and iOS. The game originally came out in 2015 and claimed the screen of at least one of my phones(smashed against a wall) and was the first and only game I vividly remember rage quitting. If this game caused you so much distress why would you play again, you may be asking yourself. Fair question, I would never have played this god forsaken time suck again were it not for a persistent co-worker. This game has evolved parsecs beyond where it was, including integrating my recent Star Wars soft spot the Phoenix Squadron from Star Wars Rebels.

Apparently I was not the only one who felt cheated by this game because recently the game creators have launched a big initiative to make the game more fun and balanced. I don’t know the specifics because I was out of it for so long but they have weekly videos wherein they discuss changes coming to the game and the rewards they have been handing out are pretty great.

In the game you will collect many of your favorite characters and ships armed with different abilities to compete in PvP and PvE fights of five on five. Various characters, particularly the aforement Rebels, have “synergy” which add toward the replayability of the game trying new combos and variations. There’s Guilds and weekly events that keep it fresh and fun and so far I have only felt like throwing my phone once in the last two months and that was my own fault. EA has a May the 4th event running right now and throughout the weekend to help you if you decided to jump in. If you’re looking for a new game for your mobile and aren’t already playing or gave up on it a while I suggest going it ago. Happy May the Fourth!
